From the first time I felt OmShi’s touch, I knew I was in the hands of a very special person. Having had hundreds of massages, body work, adjustments, and spa treatments over the past 30 years, I can truly say that OmShi’ is at the top of her profession. She can pinpoint one specific area and help it begin to heal, or put you into the most deeply relaxed state you will ever experience. She has the gift.

HIV and Massage Therapy
“Massage increases immune function and slows the rate of progression in patients with HIV.”
This study demonstrates the effectiveness of massage therapy in reducing progression of HIV and improving immune function in HIV+ adolescents.
METHOD: HIV+ adolescents (M CD4= 466mm3) recruited from a large urban university hospital’s outpatient clinic were randomly assigned to receive massage therapy (n= 12) or progressive muscle relaxation (n= 12) two-times per week for 12 weeks. To assess treatment effects, participants were assessed for depression, anxiety and immune changes before and after the 12 week treatment period.
RESULTS: Adolescents who received massage therapy versus those who experienced relaxation therapy reported feeling less anxious and they were less depressed and showed enhanced immune function by the end of the 12 week study. Immune changes included increased Natural Killer cell number. In addition, the HIV disease progression markers CD4/CD8 ratio and CD4 number increased for the massage therapy group only.

Omshi’ is the most spiritually gifted healer and teacher I have ever encountered. She came to my wife and me first to give us massage and we were astounded at her level of ability in this area and the unmistakable spiritual healing that took place as well.
